Ordering and FAQ's

You have chosen Doodling Lucy to contribute to your special day - thank you!
Here are all the things you need to know:


Please allow at least 6 weeks before your sending dates to discuss designs, sketches, ideas, come to a final decision and send to the printers! 


Each wedding is unique, as is my work. Therefore pricing is decided based on your requirements, paper stock, numbers etc.

I require a 40% deposit after the initial design discussion. After that, payment instalments can be set up, or the final payment made in full once invites have been printed and approved.

 When should I send my invitations out?

Save The Dates - If you decide to send out Save The Dates these can be sent up to 12 months prior to the wedding - try to avoid any earlier than this, they can be put in drawers and forgotten about! 

Invitations - traditionally go out around 2 months before the wedding, which allows plenty of time to organise transport etc and also allows enough time to work out numbers to give to caterers, work out table places etc.

We are wanting to do a lot ourselves - Are you able to help out with some of our calligraphy?

Good for you! I understand weddings can get very expensive and if you opt to go down the DIY route that's entirely up to you. Whether you are after someone to design/create your whole set of stationery, or just create beautiful table place settings, I'm here to help. All I ask is for enough time to create your bespoke pieces, and a 40% deposit on ordering!
